This cult favourite by pioneers in organic skin care, Neal's Yard Remedies, might leave the un-initiated a little lost with its plethora of potential uses. Here we outline 7 of the best ways to put your Wild Rose Beauty Balm to use.
A great way to remove the days dirt and grime without stripping your skin of necessary moisture. Apply a small amount to the face with your fingertips, and remove using a muslin cloth soaked in water.
2. Face Mask
Apply Wild Rose Beauty Balm as you would to cleanse, but take some time, ideally 5 minutes or more, to massage into the skin with small circular motions. If blackheads are a concern of yours, massage for up to 10 minutes, and you may begin feel a slightly grainy texture under your fingertips as blackheads dislodge themselves. Remove with a warm muslin cloth, and observe how your skin glows! If your skin is slightly dry after, reapply a tiny bit of balm to your cheeks and anywhere else lacking in moisture.
3. Cuticle Balm
This one is self-explanatory...apply to cuticles and nails for soft cuticles and less nail breakage.
4. Scar Healer
Rosehip oil, the main ingredient in Wild Rose Beauty Balm is known for its incredible healing properties. When applied early, and regularly to damaged skin (including acne scars) it can help improve texture and tone. It will also keep skin soft and supple, helping to lessen damage from stretch marks.
5. Makeup Remover
One of my favourite uses! A tiny amount removes all traces of even waterproof eyemakeup. No need for water, just apply with your fingertips, and lightly remove with a muslin cloth, or with an organic cotton makeup pad. Yes, we all know we should wash our faces every morning at night, but when you're too tired to make it to the bathroom this makes a wonderful alternative to panda eyes!
6. Intensive Moisturiser
Another self explanatory one; apply a small amount (a little goes a long way) to the skin before sleep for an intensive overnight treatment. Great for combination skin, you can apply over your regular moisturiser, and only apply to those areas that need a little extra TLC.
7. Hair Mask
For dry or damaged hair, apply a small amount of Wild Rose Beauty Balm through the lengths of your hair, with a focus on the ends. Best applied just before bed, or for at least an hour before washing your hair. Rub shampoo through ends before turning the water on in the shower, to ensure that the balm is thoroughly removed. Hair will feel silky and hydrated once it is dry.
So there you have it; 7 of my favourite ways to use Wild Rose Beauty Balm. How do you use yours?
